Our client major operator is looking for Drilling Superintendent for contract based in Aberdeen.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor well site activities (normally multiple well sites), providing support to client's Drilling Supervisors from the office and at the well sites as necessary
• Act as a focal point for communications to and from the well site(s). Keep the Drilling Manager informed of progress and any relevant incidents
• Liaise with the Well Engineering Managers on well design, programme preparation, performance analysis and trouble shooting
• Investigate and follow up on accidents and incidents arising from well site operations
• Authorise designs, programmes, well cost estimates and authorisations for expenditure (AFE’s) for client's operated wells on the relevant asset
• Establishing, monitoring and fine tuning all well operations objectives with the Well Engineering Managers.
• Ensure adequate resources are available to meet objectives
• Thorough examination of drilling designs and programmes prior to implementation, especially during handover from design and planning personnel
• Liaison with service company personnel and drilling contractor
• Ensuring competence of offshore personnel
• Performance monitoring and improvement
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Ensure safe and efficient drilling, well intervention and completions operations
• Ensure approved client programmes are adhered to, complying with client statutory policies and procedures
• Ensure that equipment, materials, supplies and services are delivered and managed efficiently in coordination with the materials / logistics function
• Be conversant with the Emergency Response Plan and Oil Spill Contingency Plan
• Protection of the Environment, Health and Safety in accordance with client’s policies and guidelines
• The delivery of new wells according to agreed construction schedules and budgets
• Ensure well designs, programmes and amendments are in compliance with client and statutory policies, standards and locally approved procedures
• Ensure that good and open communications are encouraged, promoting a culture of involvement and participation by all parties concerned
