Cost Engineer

Leading international oil and gas operator current require a Cost Engineer for contract position based here in Aberdeen. Description: The Cost Engineer is requirement is to provide cost management in support of operations for 3 company assets. This will cover support relating activities such as ongoing operational expenditure, facilities modification activity, asset topsides and subsea projects and other capital expenditure. KEY CONTACTS INTERNAL: Technical Services, Production Operations, Drilling, Finance and G&A EXTERNAL: Key support contractors and, Co-Venturers RESPONSIBILITIES: Safety - Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy. Leadership - Undertakes the role in line with corporate policy and demonstrates behaviours in line with company values at all times. Readily accepts accountability. Financial - Carries out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk. Technical/Functional: Implement, administer and maintain cost control system to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts for ongoing projects. Prepare full suite of monthly cost management reports and curves. Focal point for management and co-ordination of the Management of Change (MoC) process. Ensure interface with the Asset Planner, Finance BP and operations acountants with regard to phasing etc. Support to the Asset Management team. Prepare and deliver cost performance and forecast to Partners. Create and maintain accounting structure in line with WBS and AFE structure. Liaise with Asset team personnel on all aspects of asset cost requirements. Liaise with key contractors for monthly cost and performance reporting. Participation in Cost & Schedule Risk Reviews including risk identification workshops. Evaluation of asset and functional timewriting trending and analysis. Interface with Finance at all stages of the cost cycle to ensure consistency of information whilst reporting accruals and making cash projections etc. Produce input as required during the annual corporate budget cycles. Support project managers to prepare documentation (DSP / AFE) necessary for internal and partner approvals. QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING: Relevant degree / qualified Quantity Surveyor or equivalent KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Experience in the offshore industry, including cost management activities. Ability to estimate and control costs on all activity ranging from daily operational requirements up to large multi-project portfolios and stand-alone large scale multi-million pound contracts at the various project stages. Ability to model and execute cost risk models for project activities at all stages of project. Excellent knowledge of project business controls including current cost, planning and risk management techniques. The incumbent should develop and maintain a continuous improvement culture which is free to challenge conventional thinking and barriers. The incumbent should demonstrate willingness and importance of being a Team Player. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (in particular Microsoft Excel). Working knowledge of SAP.
