Marketing & Communications Specialist

PURPOSE OF THE JOB This is a multifaceted role to support the delivery of the marketing and communications plan and the events plan in support of raising and promoting company's profile and its impact in the marine construction industry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Providing support to the Head of Marketing & Communications in all company's activities. General Creating and maintaining project plans and relevant materials. Support the development of communication campaigns and plans. Provide proofreading and copyediting support for company’s publications and material for external publications. Digital Support Manage the day to day running of the Associations website. Manage day to day updates of the Associations social media channels. Manage the presentation library to ensure the CEO, Technical and Client Engagement teams have access to the most up to date presentation material. Events Support Supporting the Associations own events programme including sourcing and recommending venues for seminars and regional meetings. Liaising with venues and hosts on detailed requirements for each event. Supporting each as event as required. Delegate administration. Supporting the Associations activities within the industry in a variety of formats such as industry events, third-party events, speaking opportunities, sponsorship and attendance. More detailed activities for the Associations flagship event include providing onsite support at conferences, speaker liaison and interaction with delegates, exhibitors and sponsors. Marketing Support Supporting the creation and production of company's marketing material, external collateral and publications though administrative support, sourcing and collating material, writing and production. Managing subscriptions to industry publications. Communications Support Supporting the editorial plan by managing the timetable to ensure copy deadlines are achieved. Supporting membership communications through newsletters and communications on all platforms including creating digital material. Supporting internal communications within the Secretariat Creative Support Provide writing, editing and production of creative and engaging content for communications channels including social media. Lead on the creation and administration of a photographic library. Contribute to the development of clear and high-quality presentation materials for use at conferences, workshops, web presentations and meetings. Contribute with ideas and production support for multimedia communications, including the creation short videos. for a variety of channels. Help enhance the organisation’s social media presence through creative content. Measurement Monitor company's media, digital and social media presence - producing monthly data showing performance. Support creation, execution and analysis of membership surveys. Monitoring and analysing the impact of membership communications. Brand support Be a brand ambassador of the company brand Maintain the house style guide and ensure compliance across all communications. Good presentation skills, including a detailed knowledge of PowerPoint and other presentation tools. AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS Operate within the company's Code of Practice and business policies To maintain company's values KEY RELATIONSHIPS/STAKEHOLDERS CEO, Technical Director, Technical Advisors and the wider company Secretariat. Board and Committee members. Body members. Communications professionals and other personnel of member companies. PR Agent and relevant trade and national journalists. Event managers at hosting venues. Peer Associations. Third party suppliers such as design houses, exhibition companies, venues, photographers etc Experience and Qualifications Relevant Marketing or Communications qualifications. Experience of working in a relevant broad scope communications role. Experience of events and event administration. Experience of dealing with people in a customer service environment. Some experience of working in a membership/committee structure environment would be advantageous. Some experience in the energy sector would be advantageous. Experience in using social media to promote an organisation. Skills A self-starter with a strong team work ethic but also able to work autonomously on projects. Ability to manage a busy and varied work programme, often with competing deadlines. Excellent attention to detail., planning and organisational skills. Ability to build professional relationships, internally and externally. Comfortable with change. A good listener. Sound judgement. Clarity and Concision – written and verbal. Confident. Solutions focused. Knowledge Knowledge of the energy sector, particularly offshore construction would be useful. Good working knowledge of the following systems/applications: MS PowerPoint Excel WordPress or similar Content Management System SharePoint Newsweaver or similar system for creating digital publications InDesign would be useful although not essential Event registration and membership system
