Senior Completions Engineer
Key Accountabilities 1. Show strong HSE leadership during the well construction planning and execution phases. 2. Follow up on daily basis the completion and intervention operations and plan ahead in order to ensure efficient operations with minimal downtime. Lead the team to ensure activities are safe, comply with regulatory requirements and Company directives as well as industry standards with minimal environmental impact / footprint. 3. Follow up of the performance of the well with respect to established KPIs and making recommendations for operational improvement. Tracking service company performances and review reports of non-conformance events. 4. Develop technical scope of works for contracting completion, well testing, workover, etc. services. Participate in technical and commercial evaluations if required. 5. Support and organize peer assists and technical reviews. 6. Review annual completion and testing plans and budgets. Generate completion scoping costs and AFEs. 7. Responsible for performing completion engineering studies to ensure optimum well design. 8. Prepare Basis of Design (BOD) & Completion Programs. 9. Provide scoping costs and engineering inputs to feasibility studies. 10. Ensures all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons learned are captured for the benefit of future operations worldwide. 11. Ensure well material and service providers comply with specified quality assurance requirements 12. Ensures all completion activities comply with company standards and appropriate regulatory requirements. 13. Meet subsurface well objectives and requirements. 14. Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal / external stakeholders and service companies. 15. Conduct TWOPs & CWOPs. 16. Provide inputs during the completion job execution and perform post job analysis as needed. 17. Plans for future wells and ensure required materials and services are available in country and allocated as required. 18. Management of Change: ensure stakeholders clearly understand the proposed change and that the advice given is relevant and accurate. 19. Provide daily office and engineering support to the Drilling Manager(s) including updating completion plots, developing and maintaining daily completion electronic records and notebooks, other activities as needed. 20. Assist with the development of new company completion policies and procedures, guidelines, and regulations. Monitor compliance. Ensure MOC process complied with and monitor well delivery process for exploration and development wells including QA/QC, document control, drilling software requirements and tools, etc. Work close with all assets and departments to ensure commonality and continuous improvement process is in place. 21. Review existing and develop new QaQc completion policies and procedures. 22. Develop quarterly completion statistics and drilling operations review for senior management performance review meetings and QPRs with service companies. 23. Coordinate special projects and studies, internal investigations, peer reviews, audits, insurance claims, NPT and invoice issues, etc. 24. Track and adhere to the drilling exploration and development Well Delivery Process. 25. Work close with HSE department to ensure all HSE requirements are in compliance. Work with security personnel. 26. Work with accounts payable system (EAM, Proactis or similar system) and associated personnel to ensure system used correctly with invoices paid in a timely fashion. Review invoices for accuracy, credit adjustments for NPT, etc. 27. Maintain and update tangibles inventory list and coordinate with appropriate departments involved with tangible assets. 28. Assist with contract administration to ensure adherence and contract value monitored. 29. Provide 24 hours per day / 7 days per week oversight with completion operations. 30. Attend internal or external company, regulatory, or partner meetings as required. 32. Review completion techniques in the geographic area and make improvements. 33. All other duties as assigned. Education B.S. Engineering Degree Significant industry training courses Location and Timing. Initially a London based position where well design and planning, tendering/contracting, and completion program writing will occur. Significant travel to Turkey, Kurdistan Iraq, and other locations as required. Position will relocate to Ankara as drilling team is hired prior to spud, then change to Erbil office and the rig locations as required. Job Knowledge, Skills and Work Experience 1. Engineering degree. 2. Fluent in English. 3. Must have excellent writing skills. 4. IWCF or IADC Well Control. Drilling, Completion, Workover, Snubbing, etc Preferred. 5. Fifteen plus years of Completion, Workover & Well Test experience. 6. Experience with high levels of H2S and CO2 would be a plus. 7. Significant experience with well testing and flaring sour gas a plus. 8. Major Operator experience as staff or consultant a plus. 9. Good leadership, writing, and communication skills both verbal and written. 10. Pragmatic proactive self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision. 11. Preferred completion and well test experience in KRI. 12. Desire to build and maintain completion performance database to optimize drilling capability would be a plus. 13. Sensitivity working with different cultures and diverse backgrounds. 14. Service company experience would be a plus. 15. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Landmark Applications (StressCheck, Wellcat, other completion engineering applications, etc).
