HSE Advisor

A leading international oil and gas operator are currently looking to source a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team based here in Aberdeen. This role will be a full time permanent positon. HSE Advisor Key Accountabilities Provide a competent & proactive service to onshore and offshore asset personnel to ensure that health & safety requirements are fully understood and risks, controls & mitigations identified and put in place in a timely, economical and effective fashion, from operations through to decommissioning, including projects, drilling, infill, etc. Work collaboratively with OAG to influence and drive HSE performance improvement. Support onshore and offshore teams with HSE issues / concerns e.g. roll out of procedures, incident reporting requirements, coaching etc. Provide ad hoc Offshore HSE Advisor cover if appropriate. Support development and enhancement of HSES Management System. Ensure that key management system documents e.g. HS&E interface documents, are developed, implemented, reviewed and updated as required. Collaborate with the Operated Asset EA Advisor to prepare, execute and follow up on the environmental content of the annual asset HSE improvement and audit plan. In collaboration with the Operated Asset EA and HSE Lead, establish regular monthly HSE and quarterly performance review meetings with Operated Assets team, communicate issues and monitor associated actions as appropriate. Act as H&S focal point for any third party scopes on behalf of e.g. operated subsea and well activities (LVIW, DSV campaigns). Monitor and report upon H&S performance associated with operated asset facilities e.g. observation cards /active monitoring processes. Ensure relevant findings from incidents / audits associated with operated assets are recorded in systems as required, monitor and report on management of H&S corrective / preventative actions. Undertake and/or co-ordinate third party offshore / onshore site audits, assurance visits, incident investigations and awareness programmes, as required. Support inspection visits as required. Attend relevant HAZIDs/EVIDs, Risk Assessments to provide HSE input e.g. DSV campaign activities. Collate pertinent data required by UKBU and Corporate. Liaise with government agencies and industry bodies as required. Support and deliver emergency response roles as required. Major Challenges Interface with and influence operated asset team to drive HSE performance improvement. Achieving Continual Improvement through others. Financial Accountability and Dimensions Input and oversight of health and safety element of Operated Asset HSE budgets Management Relationships (include direct / indirect reports, external parties) Reporting to: HSE Lead OAG (Direct Line Management) Asset Manager (Indirect) Operations Manager (indirect) Direct reports (internal employees / external parties): n/a Indirect (internal employees / external parties): Internal Offshore HSE Advisors Safety Representatives Liaison with HSES functional team External Health & Safety Executive Inspectors Third Party Contractors & Consultants (as required) Qualifications Technical NEBOSH Certificate / Diploma or equivalent experience required Lead Auditor / auditing experience desirable Incident investigation training – 5-Y minimum, lead investigator level desirable Non-Technical BOSIET/FOET, MIST and Offshore Medical Candidate Profile (include Skills & Experience, Attributes, Behaviours) Skills / experience: Upstream oil and gas experience is essential. Experience of Operations Support essential. Proven Operational experience in support of late life assets is preferable Knowledge (e.g. systems, software, procedures, regulations): A working knowledge of:- Synergi Regulatory HSE reporting requirements in UKCS Understanding of onshore emergency preparedness and response Understanding of Business Continuity Management Incident Investigation Attributes and behaviours: Proven team player who always seeks to optimise benefits for the greater asset group.
