Mechanical Engineer

Our oiland gas operator client currently require a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their Maintenance Delivery team based here in Aberdeen. This will initialy be a 12 month contract position. Candidates must be permitted to or in the process of obtaining the right to work in the UK. Description: This role reports to the Team Lead, Maintenance & Reliability Support within the Maintenance Delivery Team. The Maintenance Delivery team being the Functional Support to the Asset Groups. Responsibilities include: Accountable for the planning and execution of support work on planned and major work scopes in collaboration with OEM and Healthcare providers Technical expert support and trouble shooting Management of key vendors, annual budget development, cost management and reporting and vendor relationship development to ensure a consistency of approach across assets and optimise opportunities for resource utilisation. Skill / Knowledge: Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant Engineering discipline. With 5 to 10 years broad engineering experience, including specific experience of static equipment. Knowledgeable on performance standards and ensuring the asset are compliant with requirements of the verification scheme. Has a clear understanding and knowledge of company Key Results. Experience in interacting with engineering discipline and third party contractors. Strong initiative and orientation towards continuous improvement. Accountable for developing budget and cost control for mechanical areas of responsibility and delivering approved budget. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a flexible team environment. Ability to work independently and in a team by effectively handling cultural, political and economic differences. Proficient in SAP CMMS for managing work and reviewing maintenance plans Manages key vendors to produce results through effective supervision, planning and allocation of work. Undertakes the role in accordance with corporate policy and demonstrates behaviours in line with company’s values at all times. Readily accepts accountability. Accountable for reviewing maintenance plans to ensure plan attainment can be met. Contract Owner for the common asset healthcare and support contracts within their area of responsibility with management responsibilities for scope, costs management, performance and planning etc. Undertakes offshore visits to ensure the delivery of key scopes and provide support to the assets. Liaise with technical and HSE support functions across the business. Raise engineering changes and liaise as required with the Facilities Engineering function. Responsible for the management and reporting of deferred workscopes Applies professional knowledge to problems and provides guidance to offshore operations. Work collaboratively in teams to develop plans to achieve long term objectives or implement corporate strategies. Identify risk and mitigating activities as well as identify barriers to implement plans accordingly. Consistently applies sound engineering principles and performs work in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. Review and evaluate recommendations and actions proposed by others. Instruct, guide and train lesser-experienced professionals in development of innovative options. Take course of action necessary to expedite the successful accomplishment of assigned project. Works collaboratively and demonstrates willingness and ability to collaborate with others to achieve key results.
