Offshore Crane Operations - Subject Matter Expert/Technical Authority


Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer - this new position will be the primary responsible person for the technical development, maintenance, and delivery of our clients training programs relating to Offshore Crane and Lifting Operations

The role be central to the development and roll out of our clients Crane training products.

Location: Although the role will be based in Aberdeen onshore (office based), this role will be global and will involve significant international travel when restrictions allow

Role and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Curriculum Development
Technical authoring and training material
Development of a Competency and Assessment framework
Supporting the development of all crane simulation capabilities
Development of client specific training packages
Quality Control and Quality Assurance of all Offshore Crane Operations programs
Maintaining our clients Offshore Crane Operations accreditation with global certification bodies
Support the recruitment of Offshore Crane Operations teams globally
Deliver Train-the-Trainer Assessor courses, creating a global standard of training delivery
Undertake market research to support the development of Offshore Crane Operations business plans
Delegated authority for Offshore Crane Operations product development

Duties will include:

Developing high quality Offshore Crane Operations classroom, simulator, and offshore based training materials
Developing a standard company Offshore Crane Operations training and assessment programme aimed at building role-specific competence from entry/introductory level through to advanced level training
Undertake accreditation of the above training material to the relevant national standards including:
British Standard
API - (American Petroleum Institute)
OPITO Offshore Crane Operations

Developing multi-lifting scenarios, using inhouse simulator and managing the global roll-out to all regions
Designing role specific, competence-based assessments using mobile/and or centre-based crane simulators

Your background:

You will be experience in all aspects of Offshore Crane and Lifting Operations
You will have a strong technical authority background
Ideally your you will have experience as a Competency Assessor, Trainer and or Coaching background
Comprehensive experience of writing technical material across global standards.
