Offshore Project Engineer

Purpose: As part of a major Decommissioning Project, act as offshore project liaison for the make safe and handover phase and associated work scopes. Job Dimensions: Ensure offshore execution of the platform Make Safe and Handover work programme whilst maintaining full compliance with the Company’s HS&E, management of change and cost management policies and procedures. Ensure robust co-ordination and communication between the Make Safe and Handover onshore team, the offshore management team and the relevant third party contractors Accountabilities and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for the safe and effective execution of the following activities: Ensure through liaison with the platform’s offshore management team and main contractors in the co-ordination of all Make Safe and Handover activities in line with the Project Plan Manage all day to day progress reporting and facilitate issue resolution through various channels (EQs, logistics etc) Implement and roll out specific Make Safe and Handover programmes and strategies to targeted offshore teams to ensure buy-in and engagement Manage ad-hoc information requests and surveys from the offshore project team Monitor progress and readiness of construction contractors and report back any issues to the Senior Project Engineer within the Make Safe and Handover area Act as PA for certain non-construction related activities (3rd party specialist surveys etc) Safety Responsibilities: Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by: Leading by example and ensuring adherence to company’s HS&E Policies Ensuring contractors correctly assess and implement the necessary risk assessment and mitigations for all offshore engineering construction works Main Interfaces: Company Platform OIM - daily direct reporting line Make Safe and Handover Senior Project Engineer – onshore point of contact Operations Supervisor Onshore Make Safe and Handover Superintendent External Engineering, design and procurement contractor Make Safe and Handover Construction Supervisor 3rd party vendors Verification contractor Qualifications & Experience: Significant relevant engineering experience, preferably in a similar role with a UKCS operator Preferably degree qualified in a relevant discipline – Engineering, Mathematics or Science ECITB accredited or other chartered status ISSOW and level 2 Risk assessment trained Current BOSIET, MIST & OGUK medical Good understanding of oilfield project management Required Competencies: The job Holder must have Proven: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within company and to represent the Company externally Ability to motivate others to ensure that objectives are delivered – with the interpersonal skills to listen to the views of others, capture good ideas and carry a team ethic whilst maintaining the objectives of the engineering team strategy Ability to constructively question and probe recommendations/proposals made by others to ensure that all foreseeable risks and possibilities have been addressed
