Purchasing Assistant

Purchasing Assistant The role Working as part of the Purchasing team this position ensures that all product stock is at sufficient levels to support sales orders and future growth and to ensure all deliveries are expedited. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintain stock levels for all products to support sales orders and future growth. Regular communication with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high service levels. Create Purchase Orders and expedite all goods received. Liaise with internal sales with regards to delivery times, stock issues, price queries etc. highlighting any delays or problems. Create and expedite overseas orders liaising with Freight Forwarding companies and maintaining import paperwork. Receipt in stock and report any order or stock discrepancies. Liaise with Stores personnel to investigate and resolve issues with stock discrepancies. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand. Raising forward orders with key manufacturers and suppliers. Provide Account Managers with sales and stock level information for customers. Monitor and maintain re-order levels of all stock products, adjusting where necessary to ensure continuous supply. Maintain and update Monthly Sales Analysis documents. Create and maintain stock codes including logoed stock items. Maintain stock master files on the Business Management System including updating information on country of origin, tariff codes, box/case weights and dimensions. Raise replenishment orders for Logoed stock and maintain reorder levels in accordance to demand. Arrange the return of goods to suppliers where required. Assist Goods In with booking in of pallet deliveries. Oversee the company Supplier appraisal process. Attend relevant meetings with Sales and Stores functions to ensure open communication and cooperation between Departments. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Uphold Company’s core values. Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by the Supervisor. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Minimum of 2 years’ relevant Purchasing experience Strong Administration skills Strong excel skills with knowledge and understanding of basic formulas Attention to detail Adaptability & flexibility
