Senior Development Geophysicist

Our client, a leading global energy company, are currently seeking a Senior Development Geophysicist for a fantastic staff opportunity in the UK.

The role and its responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:-

- Manage and deliver geophysical work programmes for fields and future developments
- QC and provide interpretations of newly acquired 4D and 3D seismic data in close collaboration with other disciplines
- Propose and deliver enhanced seismic products, provide geophysical interpretation, subsurface mapping and support for well planning
- Provide technical input into Field Development plans and Reservoir Management plans as required
- Integration of relevant geophysical data, including interpretations, rock physics models and 4D data, leading to the identification and maturation of in-field and near-field drilling targets and production improvement opportunities
- Subsurface mapping and the integration of seismic data with geological, well and production data to develop fit-for-purpose subsurface depth structure maps, structural interpretations and reservoir quality predictions to be provided as input for reservoir models
- Provision of geoscience interpretation and support during well planning and the operational phase of development drilling
- Development, maintenance and update of rock physics models for reservoirs and fluids in order to make predictions of hydrocarbon saturation / pore pressure and assist in reservoir history matching
- Peer Review and mentoring responsibility for seismic interpretation and geophysical activity
- Recommending, obtaining approval for and managing third-party geophysical studies to aid in reservoir understanding
- Work closely with other specialists within the fields of reservoir engineering, geology and petroleum engineering in a multi-discipline team approach to reservoir development and production optimisation
- Active participation in relevant external reviews, JV meetings and other ad-hoc technical meetings, representing the client

A degree in Geophysics, Geology or a related discipline is required. Preferably with a post-graduate qualification in Petroleum Geoscience, Geophysics or related discipline
