Senior Production Technologist

Position Overview The Senior Production Technologist’s contributes to all aspects of the well life cycle concerning design and performance, recommending solutions to well design, operation, integrity and abandonment issues. They will be responsible for selecting the most cost effective technology that will deliver the optimum performance. Accountabilities Designing well completions that are mechanically and operationally fit for purpose for the production life of the well. Conducting tubing stress analysis and lift curve modelling to optimise completion design and post completion production/injection performance. Provide input to the preparation of cost estimates, risk assessments, programmes and programme amendments, and ensuring conformance to Well Engineering and Operations policies and guidelines. Contribute to all well engineering activities relating to the design, operational performance and decommissioning of wells. Key Duties Developing AFE quality cost estimates. Contract champion for PT related technical services. Contribute to risk assessments on all completion programmes. Ensuring SORs and appropriate inspection standards for all safety critical completion equipment are available and in use. Liaison with sub-surface and production teams to ensure life-of-field requirements are built into well design and operation. Assist asset teams to optimise performance of wells, proposing cost effective solutions to deficiencies/failures. Ensuring completion equipment is selected and ordered on time, to allow for flexibility in the execution work programme. Managing completion equipment procurement, sub assembly make up, shipping, stock inventory control. Providing technical support to onshore and offshore teams during completion operations. Liaison with contract service providers to ensure they meet their obligations for completion activities. Liaison with rig site personnel, key contractors and sub-contractors during completion planning and operations. Providing support for well integrity issues involving the design of the completion, such as MAASP calculation. Monitoring performance of completion operations in order to control costs and safely minimise downtime. Identifying opportunities to continuously improve performance, to close the gap between existing and “Best in Class” performance. Ensuring application of WDP common processes to planning and operations. Identify, monitor and assess novel technologies, scientific research and changes to operating practices that may benefit operations Investigating areas of NPT and following up all investigations Ensuring the effective use of learning and performance tools in line with WDP principles. Education Attainment & Accreditation Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent Current IWCF (or equivalent) Well Control Certificate (Pressure Control) Maintain necessary offshore certification including BOSIET and medical Professional skills & Experience Previous North Sea production technology experience Experience of managing financial budgets. Interpersonal Skills & Qualities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to be decisive by making well thought through timely decisions
