Senior Well Integrity Engineer

the Discipline Managers in their duties Provide technical advice and ensure alignment of guidelines, procedures, technical standards and performance standards with respect to well integrity management, regulatory requirements and industry good practice Demonstrable management capability and interaction within multi-discipline teams carrying out well integrity related work at operational sites Function as Technical Authority for Wells, managing verification, maintenance and repair of wells Proven ability to define, document and provide guidance on Legislation, Operating Policies and Procedures, and the design, control, planning and executing of well integrity management activities for platform and subsea wells Extensive wide ranging experience in Well Construction and Well Operational activities Collator, analyst & interpreter of technical information Providing organisation with clear guidance on the status of wells and recommendations for the future management of the life cycle integrity of every well on the assets for which the engineer is responsible Manage the assessment and documentation of well integrity deviations of non-compliant wells Accountabilities • Support the Discipline Managers in their duties • Provide support on technical issues • First point assessment and approval of Wells Group deviations • Manage the activities of a small offshore team responsible for the assurance and maintenance of every Company platform and subsea well • Independent competent person and Wells Safety Critical Element Owner, providing guidance on well integrity status and issues to operational and managerial functions • Manage the relationships with service providers, operational sites and other technical functions which support work associated with the management of well integrity • Manage the work and expenditure of inspection, testing, verification, repair and maintenance which assures the continuing competence of each well • Maintenance of records and reporting of assurance and deficiencies / non-compliances / deviations relating to the condition of each well in compliance with well examination and verification schemes Key Duties • Ensure compliance with Company and legislative requirements for Well Examination / Verification and associated processes to assure well integrity • Administer Well Examination and Verification processes to ensure wells meet expected performance standards • Monitor well integrity and ensure compliance with integrity related policies and procedures • Assist with assessing contraventions of policies and raising dispensation if required • Provide justification for carrying out evaluation of well integrity • Liaise with Well Intervention Engineers to co-ordinate resources and supervise personnel carrying out evaluation, maintenance, inspection, and testing to verify well integrity • Assist with the collation of information and report on activities involving integrity verification, maintenance or remedial work • Provide a primary technical interface for procurement of integrity related services / equipment • Liaise with and access the expertise and support resources of manufacturers and suppliers • Provide support to engineers to ensure that specification and selection of equipment and services addresses all Integrity Standards / Verification requirements • Ensure that deficiencies and non-conformances are correctly identified, thoroughly analysed, documented and reported in the Company Synergi system • Assist in technical investigations of deficient equipment / services identifying causes, improvements and ensuring actions agreed with suppliers are implemented and completed in accordance with the Synergi Action Tracking System • Ensure that lessons learned, and benefits are clearly communicated to all engineers in a regular forum • Attend planning / programme meetings to provide a well integrity perspective • Provide technical support to operational engineers, in relation to evaluating and recommending remedial actions relating to well integrity • Keep abreast of new technologies, techniques and expertise to aid continued improvement of well operations • Ensure that the department Technical Assistant develops through involvement in the resolution of well integrity problems, and processes for examination and verification of well integrity • Ensure documentation and electronic systems generated through the application of Well Examination and Verification processes is maintained and completed to a high standard • Ensure the correct compilation, recording, and maintenance of well operations information relating to assessment of well condition, proposed remedies for integrity problems and actual remediation of well integrity problems • Provide input to job performance measurement recording and final job reports • Ensure compliance with Company and legislative requirements for Well Examination / Verification and associated processes to assure well integrity to defined performance standards • Co-ordinate the examination / verification activities of the department Technical Assistant, contractors and offshore teams • Monitor verification inspection and testing performed by well operations personnel • Monitor inspection, testing and verification services provided by suppliers • Ensure that the Company Safety Management System is complied with at all times • Ensure that contravention of Wells Group policies is assessed, and appropriate actions taken • Demonstrate through actions, a positive commitment to safety meetings and a proactive approach to safety related matters • Assist in safety initiatives, incident investigations and follow up actions • Ensure that degradation & deterioration of wells associated with ageing are included in asset plans to minimize the risks of loss of well containment • Ensure that well life extension and the assurance of well availability are progressed within approved asset plans • Ensure that decommissioning, plugging & abandonment of degrading and non-compliant wells are prioritised within approved asset plans in order to minimize the risk profile of installations Education Attainment & Accreditation • Relevant degree qualified or equivalent • Development of professional competencies, through technical training and time-served experience Professional Skills & Experience • Experience of working for multiple operators (from large multi-nationals to small independents) and working for oil & gas service providers • Offshore experience at multiple production installations, mobile drilling installations, inspection and survey vessels • Integrated technical knowledge of Wells (Well Design, Construction, Operation & Maintenance activities Intervention, Drilling, Workovers) • Installation, commissioning and optimization of well equipment and management of operational activities at site • Management of teams of mixed technical capability Interpersonal Skills & Qualities • Professional and tenacious individual using: experience, subject matter knowledge, knowledge of Company assets and functions to provide coherent reports and recommendations relating to well integrity status; drive change and continual improvement • Providing support and guidance to Wells Group and onshore operational functions and offshore operations teams • Providing clear reports, guidance and recommendations to appropriate parts of Organisation (Installation Operations Teams, Operations Reservoir Engineers and Asset Operations Management) • Experienced in communication with Regulatory Authorities technical functions, relating to well status, reporting of incidents and responding to technical queries and concerns • Build quality relationships with service companies to enhance the supply of equipment and performance of personnel supporting activities • Ability to lead/enable change and seek continual improvement Requirements • Ability to travel offshore
