Wells Team Leader

Market leading independant operator are currently looking for a Wells Team Leader to lead a major oifiled development project based out of their London office. This will be a long term contract role. Candidates must have or are working towards obtaining the right to work in the UK. Wells Team Leader The Role Responsible for provision of all well engineering activities and interfaces for the development. Ensure HSE requirements are integral to all aspects of well design and well operations and in accordance with company’Policies and procedures and the Well Engineering Management System. The role is based within the business unit offices in London with international business trips, including to the development as required. Key Accountabilities Ensures HSE is at the highest priority in all elements of Sea Lion delivery Work with the Well Engineering Manager to ensure the requirements of the company Well Engineering Management System are fully met Own the delivery of the Wells campaign from cradle to grave including front end design, project execution planning, resourcing, contracting, detailed design, execution and close out. Manage the key Wells work streams of Drilling, Completions and Subsea (trees and wellheads) in compliance with the Well Engineering Management System. Lead the Wells team to deliver an integrated Wells solution that fulfils Sanction requirements. Deliver key documentation such as basis of designs, time and cost estimate, integrated Wells schedule, execution plans in readiness for Sanction reviews Ensure quality and detail of well engineering is paramount and HSE is considered in all elements for the design and execution. Manage the key interface with L&I manager to ensure that logistics and infrastructure scope and delivery fits with Wells schedule In conjunction with the Drilling, Logistics and Infrastructure Manager develop and maintain a manpower plan to ensure sufficient skilled personnel are applied at the appropriate time to deliver the campaign. Ensure contract and procurement resources deliver contracts and long leads in a timely manner. Ensure scopes of work are correct and appropriate for the campaign. Responsible for the integrity of engineering and procedural decision making including management of change. Manage and technically review the detailed engineering and plans developed by the discipline engineers. Accountable for continuous improvement and Lessons Learned are captured in the Lesson Learned Register and transferred into Well Operations Manuals and implemented in all well operations Identifies performance improvement initiatives and executes them in the performance cycle. Provide the day to day operational and technical expertise in rig operations including the design, execution, and post job analysis as needed. Delivers well and project objectives Interface with installation, operations, HSE and subsea teams to ensure simultaneous operations field activities including production infrastructure are risk assessed and managed. Manages daily operations to ensure full understanding of issues, operational problems, FIRs, cost, etc. Plans for future wells and ensures required materials and services are available in country and allocated as required. Manage the well approval process within FIG and its advisors. Initiates and manages specialist projects as required, for optimisation and/or reduction in well cost. Work with Service Providers to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds requirements. Provide oversight to the execution team for the delivery of the campaign. Lead contractor performance reviews and feedback necessary improvement opportunities. Mentor and develop staff. Major Challenges Communications of Wells related issues and drivers within the project of Wells and other teams Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal/external stakeholders and service companies. Ensure that logistics and infrastructure is fully aligned and embedded in Wells deliverables. Management of remote teams, infrastructure and operations Reporting to: Drilling, Logistics and Infrastructure Manager or delegate Qualifications A University degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or petroleum engineering but not essential. Valid IWCF well control certification. Valid offshore survival certification. Candidate Profile Skills / experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Superintendent or Wells Team Leader with operating companies Experience of progressing projects through FEED and Sanction into execution. Critical to have managed rig and campaign start ups Experience in well operations from a semi-submersible and drilling horizontal development wells. Experience in managing operations in remote locations. Track record in contracting process for wells equipment and services. London based role. Knowledge (e.g. systems, software, procedures, regulations): Experience of working in regulated environments (UK, Norway) High proficiency with IT and industry software including Office Suite Attributes and behaviours: Interpersonal skills necessary to establish good working relationships with team. A strong, decisive individual with an inclusive management style is required. Ability to work in a flexible and changing environment.
