Training your people on future changes to IR35

Oct 16, 2019

Prodrill’s managing director is passionate about training and supporting people through the future in off-payroll working rules in the private sector (IR35).

Louise Wood, our MD is like a sponge when it comes to the future changes to IR35, which affect the UK contractor population from April 2020.  Continuing to pass on her knowledge to the wider Prodrill team, she delivered another bite sized internal training session this week which was aimed at up-skilling employees knowledge around this detailed and complex change that will occur next year.

Like many things in the UK, currently navigating your way through the changes can be complex, time consuming and costly.  It’s important to keep the members of your team abreast of legislation changes ensuring line mangers, recruitment teams and support personnel are armed with the knowledge to help clients and contractors understand how this will affect future recruitment decisions.

Whilst IR35 has been around since 2000 this reform will bring significant changes to working practices for the end user (Fee Payer), Intermediary (Fee Payer) and the Personal Services Companies (PSC).

People are at the heart of our business from our clients and contractors to our employees and partners, it’s critical to any supplier of Manpower services that we not only educate ourselves but can support the wider community to understand the impact.

Louise has a favourite saying ‘ignorance is no excuse’ we need to learn, educate and share in order to arm ourselves with the knowledge to support.  It’s important we understand the facts and often there is too much noise surrounding this subject which can lead to wrong information being shared.

As a leading upstream recruitment partner to the oil and gas industry Prodrill has been supporting oil operators, service companies and SME businesses for the past 37 years with their flexible recruitment solutions.

If you would like to understand where Prodrill can support you navigate the changes while retaining flexibility across your workforce, please contact Louise Wood, managing director, on +44 (0) 1224 261920, she is only too happy to share her knowledge free of charge!
